International Student Week in Belgrade - ISWiB
The central project of the organization is International Student Week in Belgrade that will be held for the third time in summer 2009. Due to its unique concept, this international conference is gathering more than 200 young people from whole Europe, with the aim of exchanging opinions and views about the hot issues that a modern society has to face.
Interactive lectures and workshops, group working and discussions, practical work, excursions and leisure activities are linking participants together. Young people, by being brought into contact with other culture, can learn a lot from each other - they can discover and explore similarities and differences between their cultures and realize that differences are not something what we should be afraid of, but something what could enrich our life.
Project objectives are: promoting communication and cooperation among the students across Europe, mainly through the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge in the field of media, economics, art, ecology and information technologies; making professional contacts among students and experts with the aim of future professional cooperation and potential new projects; bringing close together domestic and foreign students by making international contacts and overcoming prejudices; fighting against racism and xenophobia and improving dialogue among various cultures through promotion of the idea what it means to be a European citizen; improvement of intercultural and European competencies among the participants; releasing creative spirit of the young people through intercultural mediation; presenting rich Serbian culture to the foreign students; cooperating and networking with organizations of similar orientation and other relevant institutions in the eve of regional and overall European integration and unification.
The festival is oriented towards student population and young people both in Europe and Serbia. Project participants are chosen according to their on-line application where they have to make statements about their active role in civil society, about their motivation to participating at ISWiB, as well as about their expectations and favourite workshop. Finally, applicants are asked to formulate a short essay concerning heading motto of the conference.
We are addressing all students from our university and offer them to become involved in the organization and preparation of ISWiB.

International Youth Web Magazine “WAVE”
This is a second project of World Youth Wave started in with the first issue, launched in November 2006. For the beginning, WAVE will be published like one issue per month and it will contain all the sections like classical weekly or monthly magazines: politics, society, economics, sport, science & technology, entertainment… We think that international cooperation between Editorial Staff and differerent ways and styles of journalistic work that exists in our team is our advantage to present actual happenings and interesting topics in one different and a new way of communication. Also, in the same time, we give our contribution to improve international relations between young people and all the others in the time of very actual European and world integrations.
Every issue of our WAVE magazine has a section called “Topic of the issue” and that’s the most actual thing at the moment. It should contain all major principles of journalism: actual, interesting and importance for whole society. We want to try to improve investigative journalism by using the fact we are international team. We should make wider the borders media can reach with their impact.
Main task for all the members of Editorial Office is gathering materials and datas, writing articles, taking photos and active participation in preparing the whole magazine. Through our community everybody has a chance to work as reporter, journalist, photographer, translator…and to improve knowledge for some future job and new projects. Editorial Staff started with around thirty people and now we have about fifty journalists. Basic edition is in English but we left open possibility to have national editions, in different languages.
Goals of the project are: promotion of communication and cooperation between students and young people all around Europe and world through working together and creative exchange of ideas, experience and knowledge; establishing professional contacts for possible future cooperation and new projects; widespreading knowledge about topics, phenomenons and important happening for students and youth (usually that topics doesn’t have enough space in classic media); improving investigative journalism; making domestic and foreign youth closer through the permanent international contacts.
We are planning to make WAVE one of the most important media on international level with as many readers as possible. We consider that this youth project has a very good perspective and we hope it will be good enough to grow up.

ESN Belgrade
Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a student organisation founded in 1990 for supporting and developing student exchange. ESN is present in 240 Higher Education Institutions from 30 countries. The network is constantly developing and expanding.
The main focus of ESN is placed on current exchange students, who often face problems (and feel abandoned) in their new environments. Therefore ESN offers help in academic, social and practical integration process. This is mainly done through activities in the local sections, which include cultural and social events such as trips to various places within the country, film nights, buddy group and language projects and international food fests and last, but not least, parties. In addition to that, many sections have introduced mentor systems, which help the international students mainly in academic and practical integration.
ESN also provides relevant information and encourages the future exchange students to gain the international experience and gain relevant insight to different cultures.
On the initiative of World Youth Wave, the first section in Serbia was established on January the 20th, 2007 at the ESN Council of National Representatives held in Brussels.
Being aware of the necessity of a European country to give its students the possibility to be really mobile, an so actively contribute to the establishing of a functional European Higher Education Area, ESN Belgrade started developing its idea of establishing a centre whose main objective will be to foster student mobility in Serbia.
